Pakistan: A man was killed and two injured after a car bomb exploded near the entrance of the airport of Pakistan's north western city of Peshawar on Tuesday, police said.
The attack occurred around 7:10am (0210 GMT) and shattered the windows of vehicles nearby. Hundreds of people were gathered at the airport for flights to and from the Middle East.
Three men were wounded in the attack, one of which later died in hospital.
The bomb was planted in a Suzuki car parked near the entrance of the airport, said Iftikhar Khan, a senior police officer.
No-one immediately claimed responsibility for the blast.
Meanwhile, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday it will fence and landmine parts of its border with Afghanistan to prevent cross-border attacks.
“In keeping with our policy to prevent any militant activity from Pakistan inside Afghanistan, the Pakistan army has been tasked to work out modalities for selectively fencing and mining the Pakistan-Afghanistan border,'' said Foreign Secretary Riaz Khan.
Speaking at a news conference, Khan said Pakistan planned to deploy additional paramilitary troops at the frontier.
