Islamabad: Pakistan plans to build an international airport at Mirpur in Kashmir, the National Assembly was informed on Friday.

Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Barjees Tahir, said that the planning work for the project had been completed and after availability of funds the Mirpur airport would be constructed in two years.

He did not say how much money would be needed to build the first international airport in Pakistan-administered Kashmir.

The minister also said efforts were being made for the early completion of a new Islamabad International Airport, which is being built in Fateh Jang region near the capital.
