Karachi: Paramilitary Rangers on Sunday killed at least three Lyari gang members including a close aide to Uzair Baluch, the kingpin of the gang, who has been recently arrested by the Interpol.

A spokesman for the Rangers said Sunday morning a team of the Rangers conducted a targeted operation against terrorists of Lyari Gang. The operation focused on the Gabol Park in Lyari town.

He further said that around 9:30am the encounter began between the raiding team and the gangs activists. The gangster, he said, opened fire followed by grenade attack. The rangers retaliated with effective fire.

The rangers shoot-out took down three terrorists of Lyari gang, the spokesman said.

They were later identified as Munib alias Maab Baluch, Hassan and Baba alias Baba Gold, who was the brother of Jasim Golden, another key figure of the Lyari gang.

Weapons were also recovered from the three dead gangsters.

The spokesman further said that Maab Baluch was a key commander of Uzair Baluch and was running the gang and wanted for dozens of murders and other heinous crimes.
