Islamabad: Prime Minister Gilani, who left for Malaysia to attend an international conference, has directed police and security agencies to track down those behind Sunday's suicide attack in Islamabad left 20 people dead.
Gilani said the government would not let anti-state elements succeed in their nefarious designs to create chaos.
The government has also announced a cash award of five million rupees (Dh265,087) for anyone providing information leading to the arrest of those behind the bombing.
Investigators have, meanwhile, found the severed head of the suspected suicide bomber. "We found the head... and are trying to reconstruct the face with the help of experts," a senior investigator told Gulf News.
The site of the bombing near the Red Mosque remained cordoned off on Monday.
The devastating blast came just as thousands of religious students and their leaders ended a rally to commemorate the first anniversary of the military operation at the Red Mosque to flush out militants.
Investigators said no one had claimed responsibility for the attack but sources linked it to the operations against militants in the North West Frontier Province. The interior ministry said special teams had been tasked with the investigations.
