Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Yousef Raza Gilani on Wednesday confirmed two members of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a group that India suspects is behind the Mumbai attacks, have been arrested.
The two men, Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi and Zarrar Shah, were being held for questioning, Gilani told journalists in Multan city, in the central province of Punjab.
"They have been detained for investigation," he said.
Unnamed officials have said Lakhvi was arrested in a raid on a Lashkar camp in Pakistani Kashmir on Sunday, but there had been no confirmation from the government until now.
