Islamabad: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA) has told its leaders, especially secretary general Maulana Fazlur Rahman, not to hold any meeting with government leaders and officials without seeking permission from the top leadership of the alliance.
A meeting of the MMA chaired by Qazi Hussain Ahmad at his residence here yesterday also reiterated religious alliance's opposition to President Pervez Musharraf's re-election with or without uniform.
Sources told the Gulf News that some participants criticised Maulana Fazl for meeting Pakistan Muslim League chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain in Islamabad in which Shujaat had sought his help for the president's re-election.
