Islamabad: Pakistani leaders have expressed satisfaction over the outcome of the foreign minister-level talks with India held in New Delhi this week.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar separately met President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and briefed them on the discussions she had with Indian counterpart S.M. Krishna.

A joint statement issued after the talks showed no breakthrough on any major contentious issue between the two countries but decisions were taken on a set of additional confidence building measures to facilitate travel and trade across the Line of Control in Kashmir.

According to an official report, President Zardari expressed satisfaction over the progress made during Khar's visit to Delhi.

Working together

"Pakistan welcomes commitment of the two sides to work together in seeking early and amicable solutions to all issues between the two countries," Zardari said.

Gilani, talking to Ms Khar, said Paksitan desired good neighbourly relations with all the regional countries including India, in the larger interest of the welfare of the people of South Asia.
