Islamabad: At least eight people were killed and six injured on Sunday in a road accident involving a bus and a truck in Pakistan’s Sindh province, a media report said.

The bus was en route from Karachi to Sehwan when it crashed head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction near the Indus Highway, killing eight people and injuring six, The News International reported. Among those killed were four children.

The passengers in the bus were reportedly on a pilgrimage to Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine in the town of Sehwan in the Sindh province.

Rescue teams shifted the injured to the hospital.

The report, however, did not mention how many passengers were on board the ill-fated bus.
