UN task force to tackle food crisis
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has said he will head a task force set up to tackle the global food crisis.
Bern: UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon has said he will head a task force set up to tackle the global food crisis.
Ban said the UN had decided to meet the $755 million (Dh 2.8 billion) short fall in funding for the World Food Programme.
He also said the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization had a $1.7 billion (Dh 6.2 billion) plan to provide seeds for farmers in the world's poorest countries.
