Dubai: The UAE Embassy in Bangkok has urged Emiratis not to travel to Thailand where anti-government protests have escalated.
The embassy confirmed that all UAE citizens in Thailand were fine.
Mohammad Yousuf Mohammad, Charge d'Affairs of the UAE Embassy, said the embassy would facilitate the return of Emiratis from Thailand.
Other countries also warned citizens against travel to Thailand.
Britain and Singapore issued a travel warning on Sunday, and urged citizens already in Thailand to stay indoors as much as possible.
Australia and Canada also advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel to the country.
In fresh protests on Monday, at least 70 protesters were hurt in clashes with soldiers who fired shots in the air and used tear gas and water cannons to disperse protesters.
Although the government has declared a state of emergency, protesters have controlled many streets in the capital. The government has moved to secure key infrastructure, including airports and ports.
Police said protesters are concentrated in at least half a dozen points in the city, including the prime minister's office and several major intersections.
