Manama: A deputy in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (KKTC) rode a donkey to the parliament last week to protest rising oil prices and a recent government decision to purchase new cars.
MP Arif Albayrak, representing the Republican Turks Party (CTP), told the media outside the building that he wanted to protest the continued rising fuel and gasoline prices as well as a cabinet decision to have the government buy new cars for ministers, Turkish daily Today's Zaman reported.
The lawmaker left the place after making his remarks, riding on the donkey that had a license plate hanging around its neck.
