Paris: An Airbus official said on Thursday that the wreckage from Air France Flight 447 is en route from Brazil to France by boat to be studied further for clues to the June 1 crash.
Last week French investigators said 640 pieces of the plane have been retrieved from the Atlantic Ocean, some of them huge pieces that had to be handled by cranes.
They were initially held in the Brazilian city of Recife.
The Airbus official said it will arrive in mid-July and be examined at a military aviation center in the southern city of Toulouse by French accident investigators and judicial police.
The plane crashed in thunderstorms over the Atlantic en route from Rio de Janeiro to Paris. All 228 people aboard were killed.
