- Political leaders have given the Nepali king 15 days to abandon the administration.
Kathmandu :Nepal's lawmakers abolished the monarchy and declared the country a republic on Wednesday, ending 239 years of royal rule in the Himalayan nation and the world's last Hindu kingdom.
In the first meeting of the newly elected assembly, led by former communist rebels, 560 lawmakers voted for the resolution with just four against. The king was given 15 days to leave his palace in central Kathmandu. There was no immediate reaction from the palace on the resolution. Small groups of young men danced in the streets following the late night vote, chanting "Long Live the Republic!" and calling Gyanendra a "thief". Fireworks could be heard going off across the city.
"The people in Nepal have defeated Gyanendra, Nepal is now the people's republic," said Gopal Thapa, a supporter of the former rebels, celebrating outside the hall where the Constitutional Assembly met.

.If the king Gynendra was a good person, then no need to change to a republic system. But that person have only knowledge of business, so in this moment of Nepal, its good.

Yes, Monarchy has no moral value to exist. Surely power must be with the people, the poor and downtrodden should have major say. The affairs of the world/universe must be viewed from the viewpoint of the underprivileged sections of the society, Long live Nepal republic

The monarchy System is better than the republican, because what is happening in this era with countries that are republicans. most political parties trying to fulfill their personal aims don't work for the nation. But in case of Honest Monarchy System country make progress more.
