Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez claimed a victory on Monday in the election for governors and mayors after his allies won at least 17 of 22 state races.
Caracas: Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez claimed a victory on Monday in the election for governors and mayors after his allies won at least 17 of 22 state races.
Chavez's opponents, however, won in the key states of Miranda, Zulia and Caracas.
