Hong Kong: The murders of four prostitutes over the past few days have prompted Hong Kong police to fear a serial killer may be on the loose in the highly populated city.
Police are continuing the investigation after a fourth victim was discovered on Hong Kong island on Monday
In two districts in the northern New Territories, three sex workers, all in their 30s, were found dead in their ransacked apartments.
The first two were robbed and strangled, one with a hose. The third was certified dead with no apparent injuries early on Monday.
A police official said they were thoroughly pursuing all leads.
There are no official statistics on how many people work in Hong Kong's sex industry, but experts believe there are at least 100,000 women working at a time, many of whom come from impoverished Chinese provinces.
