Tegucigalpa: Honduran police say a radio reporter has been shot dead, becoming the tenth journalist killed in Honduras this year.
National Police say gunmen kidnapped veteran journalist Israel Zelaya in the city of San Pedro Sula Tuesday. His body was found hours later in a sugar cane plantation near the city of Villanueva.
Police say in a statement that three months ago the 62-year-old radio commentator for Radio International in San Pedro Sula had complained to authorities that a group of strangers had set his house on fire.
Police say they have no suspects or a motive in the killing.
