Woman critical after jumping from Delhi flyover

New Delhi: A 38-year-old woman was in critical condition on Sunday after she jumped from a flyover here in an attempt to commit suicide, police said.

Basanti fractured her legs after plunging from the Peera Garhi flyover in west Delhi, apparently because of family issues.

“She was rushed to the Maharaja Agrasen hospital where she is in critical condition,” a police official said.

“Initial inquiry reveals she was depressed over the behaviour of her family members,” said the official. Basanti lived in Najafgarh, also in west Delhi.
