UAE nationals in India hotel hit by terrorists

The UAE consul-general in India, Sultan Humood Rashid Abu Afraa, on Thursday said on Dubai television said that there are a few UAE nationals who have been holed up inside the hotel that was hit by terrorists.

Dubai: The UAE consul-general in India, Sultan Humood Rashid Abu Afraa, on Thursday said on Dubai television said that there are a few UAE nationals who have been holed up inside the hotel that was hit by terrorists.

He said: "We are in contact with them and we will do our level best to keep them safe."

Rashid Al Owais, a UAE national who is stuck in the Oberoi Trident hotel, told Dubai television over telephone that he is fine and confined to his hotel room.

"There is curfew outside and we can't get out," he said.
