Twin murders shock Kerala
Two murders in different parts of Kerala, both linked to adulterous relationships, have shocked the conscience of society in the state.
Thiruvananthapuram: Two murders in different parts of Kerala, both linked to adulterous relationships, have shocked the conscience of society in the state.
One of the murders is thought to have been committed several months ago, and an accused in that case has admitted the body was burnt and then disposed of in a river.
The prime suspect in that case, Bineesh, is still at large.
In the other incident, a youth Rubin Joseph, 27, was murdered and his body burnt, allegedly by Selvan, 42, who suspected Joseph was having an affair with his wife.
Joseph and Selvan's wife Chechiamma had been colleagues at a tourist resort in Idukki district, where their relationship is thought to have developed.
Joseph allegedly took pictures of Chechiamma on his mobile phone and tried to blackmail her husband.
Police think Selvan summoned Joseph to the compound of a resort that had been demolished last year, on the pretext he was going to offer him money, and murdered him there.
The body was then covered with dry grass and burnt. The murder is thought to have been committed in the first week of this month.
Equally shocking has been the murder case in which a housewife, Sajini, 43, whose husband was based abroad, had a relationship with Bineesh, 25.
Bineesh is believed to have murdered Sajini, burnt the body and disposed it off in the Chettuva river. Police have apprehended Renny, a college student, who is the second accused in the case.
