Hyderabad : Yet another top leader of the Communist Party of India (Maoist), Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad has gone missing.
Close on the heels of the killing of two senior Maoist leaders by Andhra Pradesh police, the CPI Maoist cadres said were apprehensive that Azad too has been held by the police's Special Intelligence Bureau (SIB).
Azad is one of the senior-most leaders of the committee and is a member of the Politburo and the central committee of the party.
Warned
A statement issued by Gudsa Usendi, spokesperson, Dandakaranya Special Zone Committee, claimed Azad was "abducted" by the SIB on March 11. The CPI Maoist demanded he be produced before a court of law immediately. The statement warned that if any harm is caused to him "the People and the People's Liberation Guerilla Army throughout the country will react seriously."
