Hyderabad: If Nara Chandrababu Naidu can do it, K. Chandrasekhar Rao can do it better. This seems to be the motto the latter is following in almost every sphere.

After the revelation that superstitious beliefs in Vastu Shaastra, relating to the design of a building and location of various facilities in a house, kept Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu away from official functions held in Acharya Nagarjuna University, his Telangana counter part KCR was planning to go one step further and hire a vastu adviser for the state government.

According to the official sources, KCR has chosen his reliable Vastu consultant Suddala Sudhakar Teja for the position of Vatsu adviser to the government. As there was no provision to have Vastu adviser, the position will be called Advisor-architecture. “A file has already been circulated and it was pending with the finance minister for clearance”, sources said.

KCR is a strict adherent to Vastu Shastra and does not do anything without consulting on the matter.

This has often created awkward situations for the government.

Soon after becoming the chief minister, KCR had refused to move to the official residence and camp office at Begumpet after it was found to be “violating” Vastu Shaastra.

Consequently, officials found another suitable place for him, by merging the residence of two IAS and IPS officers, and spent a considerable amount to renovate the place in Kundan Bagh area.

But later he changed his mind and decided to use the Begumpet residence after making some modificationss.

However as per the Vastu consultants advice, KCR was using only the building at the rear, while the front building or camp office was lying unused as it was not in accordance with Vastu. KCR was still toying with the idea of changing his residence once again, to find a more Vastu-compliant one.

Those close to KCR say that he was keen to have even the state secretariat and other government buildings laid out according to Vastu, hence his need for a full time adviser on the subject.

The present official chief minister’s residence acquired the reputation of being an “inauspicious place” since the death of then occupant Y.S.R. Rajasekhar Reddy in a helicopter crash in 2009.
