Pakistan army had hand in Mumbai attacks: reports
India's new home minister says security lapses lead to deadly Mumbai attacks as new panic breaks at New Delhi airport.

New Delhi: Indian newspapers reported on Friday the government had proof that Pakistan's military spy agency was involved in the Mumbai attacks as the new home minister admitted security lapses led to the deadly attacks.
"I would be less than truthful if I said there were no lapses. These happens sometimes. These are being looked into," Palaniappan Chidambaram told reporters in Mumbai.
"We will address the causes that led to the lapses," he said.
Also on Friday, gunshots heard at New Delhi's international airport caused a new security scare.
A police official said security forces swarmed the airport after the sound of gunfire rang out, but no one was injured.
Meanwhile, Indian newspapers reported of proof that Pakistan's spy agency was involved in the attacks that killed at least 171 people in Mumbai.
"The Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) connection was clear and evident," the Times of India quoted Indian intelligence sources as saying. The ISI is Pakistan's main spy agency.
The Hindu newspaper said investigations into the Mumbai attack had led to the names of handlers and trainers of the gunmen. These were believed to be military or ISI men.
A detained suspect told investigators he had attended four training camps in Pakistan over the past 18 months, Mail Today newspaper said.
He has said he is a member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based group blamed for previous attacks in India.
