Muslim girl refuses to marry dowry-seeking groom
As a tribute to girls’ courage, the elders at her village vow not to give dowry to grooms in future
To Salim, Dubai. In Islam no one has a rite to ask Dowry. In deed it is prohibited. Giving as a Gift to his Daughter from parents wealth, it is up to them. But Groom or his family members cannot demand at all. In this story clearly mention the Groom side demanded One Million Rupees.

MASHA'ALLAH...i'm really proud of the courage shown by the girl and sincerely pray that this evil is eradicated from the world. i know many girls back home suffering because they couldn't fulfill the ever growing demands of the groms side even after marriage. DOWRY IS AN UN-ISLAMIC PRACTISE.i wish few men here take an initiative to spread the message to fellow brethren. JAZAK ALLAH

I respect all people who take good decisions. Moral is always same and greed is curse so if anyone builds a relation on this base then how can that relation run?

Dowry is not Evil, its not a price of the Bride, its given as a gift to her, dont misjudge that because of some unique cases.

fathima has really made all the indian girls proud. inshallah she will definitely get a very good husband and as for the groom's family he should be punished and should be terminated from his job.

Dowry is definitely an evil in today's Indian society and I think it is only practiced only in the Indian subcontinent. Marriage is not only a requirement for women, men also need support and children. But girls if think seriously, this unfair custom can be stopped. Personally I had not worn only very gold ornaments in my marriage compared to anyone of our status in Kerala even though my parents would have given me easily 150 pavan. This was a tough decision especially in our village area, but I think I contributed my little part to the society by not wearing gold.
