Mumbai: Eighty-four teams and 800 filmmakers from across India have signed up for this year's 48 Hour Film Project (48HFP). This is part of the Mumbai leg of the international film-making competition.
The top ten films will be going to the Cannes 2011 Short Film Corner.
This weekend, until tomorrow, the participants are expected to make a movie — write, shoot, edit and score it — in just 48 hours.
In 2009, 40,000 filmmakers made 3,000 films in 76 cities and this year it is going to be even bigger.
Renowned personalities
"This year's line-up of jury and prizes is also great," say Preeti Gopalkrishnan and Yogi Chopra, the Mumbai producers of the event.
Among the renowned film personalities supporting the event are Amol Palekar, Nagesh Kukunoor, Dolly Thakore, Manish Jha and Niranjan Iyengar.
