In the neighbouring Jammu region, one person was killed and several injured when Hindus and Muslims clashed.
Separate incidents across Kashmir injured at least 100 people killed 11 as police fired to control the protests.
The violence comes one day after four people, including a separatist leader, were killed by police trying to stop Muslim protesters from crossing into Pakistan.
On Tuesday, some 20,000 Muslims defied a curfew in Bandipora, about 60 km north of Srinagar, Kashmir's summer capital, to protest against Monday's killings.
Kashmir's main separatist alliance, All Parties Hurriyat Conference, prepared to bury senior leader Shaikh Aziz, among four people killed by police as he led the march.
