A man is due to appear in court on Monday in connection with the rape of a British teenager found dead on a beach in Goa.
Panaji: A man is due to appear in court on Monday in connection with the rape of a British teenager found dead on a beach in Goa.
Samson D'Souza has not been charged with any offence but under Indian law he must appear in court within 24 hours of his arrest.
Police had initially said Scarlett Keeling, 15, from Devon had drowned after drinkingh too much when her body was found on a beach in Goa in February.
However a murder inquiry was launched on Sunday following a post-mortem examination in which doctors discovered 50 bruises and abrasions on her body.
D'Souza was arrested after witnesses identified him as being seen with Scarlett a short while before her body was found.
