Mumbai" An educational trust run by senior Maharashtra Minister Chhagan Bhujbal's family members is under the scanner for alleged misuse of conditions imposed on it by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) while granting land for construction of a building at Bandra.

A team of officials from Maharashtra Charity Commissioner's office, led by Mangesh R Deshpande, yesterday inspected the eighth and 10th floors of the Mumbai Education Trust (MET) premises, located off Bandra Reclamation area.

Flouting rules

The inspection follows a complaint lodged by MET's former trustee Sunil Karve that the eighth floor of the institute is being allegedly used by Bhujbal's daughters-in-law Vishakha and Shefali for running a furniture showroom while the 10th floor is being used as a residence by the Bhujbal family.

The BMC had allotted the land to the MET on a condition that it would be used only for educational purposes.
