Hyderabad: The massive liquor syndicate scam continues to unfold in Andhra Pradesh with the Anti-Corruption Bureau carrying out raids at excise and prohibition departments in many more districts on Monday.

Raids were conducted and records seized in the districts of Guntur, Nellore, Mahbubnagar and Kurnool, two days after similar raids in Khammam district led to the arrest of four more senior officials.

ACB officers raided the excise superintendent's office in Narsaraopet, Guntur, removing computer hard disks.

Officers questioned the excise assistant sub-inspector in Nandyal Sriramulu and an inspector in Kurnool.

Though the ACB has been investigating alleged links between liquor syndicates and various officials and politicians since December, this is first time so many raids have been carried out.

The four arrested after simlar raids on Saturday, charged with helping liquor syndicate supremo Nunna Venkat Ramanna, were deputy commissioner A.V. Narasimha Rao, Khammam excise superintendent K. Madhusudhan Rao, excise superintendent M. Shankaraiah and Khammam excise inspector D.S. Nath.
