Hyderabad: Seemandhra MPs, who were suspended from the Lok Sabha for disobeying the chair and stalling the proceedings in the House, have now crossed all limits in their opposition to the formation of Telangana state.

At least three Seemandhra MPs of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) have issued a threat that if their demands were not met, their region will prefer separation from the country.

TDP member of Lok Sabha from Narsaraopeta M. Venugopala Reddy said if justice was not done to their region, then a 25-member Parliament should be constituted for the region.

He was angry that the Seemandhra members who were attacked and beaten up in Parliament were also suspended. Describing the suspension of 16 MP as undemocratic he said, “This is an attempt to stifle the voice of five crore [50 million] people”.

“If this Parliament cannot give us justice, then form a 25-member Parliament in Seemandhra region. Like Bangladesh and Pakistan, we will also go out,” he said.

Continuing his diatribe before the media in New Delhi, he said, “Speaker should placate the Seemandhra leaders by revoking our suspension and announcing that the Telangana bill was not introduced. We are questioning the injustice meted out to Seemandhra. If justice is done to us, we will give Telangana in a flower basket. Otherwise if you give us a separate Parliament we will go out of this country”.

He said that for the incidents in Lok Sabha, responsibility lies with the Congress, Speaker Meira Kumar and YSRCP leader Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy.

He alleged that some Congress MPs had physically assaulted him but Reddy kept quiet.

Two TDP members of Rajya Sabha also lashed out at the Speaker. Sujana Chowdhary and C.M. Ramesh alleged that the presiding officers of both the Houses were behaving like Congress agents. “It is unfortunate that a member had to use pepper spray for self defence”, Chowdary said.

Another senior TDP leader Gali Muddu Krishnamma Naidu also spoke in the same tone.

Talking to the reporters in Hyderabad today, “it is better to get out of the country”.

“If there is no respect for the views of Seemandhra people, then it is better to get out of the country,” he said.

He said it was shameful that the President approved a bill rejected by the state assembly.
