Andhra leader has no house or car

Hyderabad: Believe it or not the total assets of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy is only Rs3.3 million (Dh240,160).
He does not have a house or an apartment, nor is there a vehicle registered in his name or that of his wife, Vijyalakshmi.
This is what he declared in his affidavit filed along with his nomination papers for the Pulivendula assembly constituency.
His declared assets are far less than they were ahead of the 2004 elections.
The leader of the opposition, N. Chandrababu Naidu, has declared assets of Rs90 million. But the surprise in the pack is film-star-turned-politician Chiranjeevi, who, together with his wife, has assets of Rs880 million.
Reddy has declared cash of Rs12,379 and his wife has Rs31,069. He has deposits of Rs193,000 in nationalised banks and his wife has fixed deposits of Rs4 million and savings of Rs454,000 in nationalised banks. She also has unlisted shares in Saraswati Power and Industries, valued at Rs3.52 million.
The valuables of Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy include 594 grams of gold and diamonds worth Rs1.3 million. His wife has 581 grams of gold and diamonds worth Rs1.057 million. The chief minister also has 39.52 acres of agricultural land worth Rs478,000.
His son, Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, has declared assets of Rs770 million in the form of shares and capital in different companies.
In his affidavit filed with nomination papers in Kadapa Lok Sabha constituency, the Congress candidate has personal assets of Rs611.3 million, while his wife, Bharati, has assets of Rs162.7 million.
His shares in different companies total up to Rs379.9 million. The companies promoted by him include Bharati Cements and Sandur Power. His wife also has shares in different companies worth Rs84.8 million and jewellery worth Rs13.2 million.
The couple owns a house in Hyderabad worth Rs18.9 million and another property at Pulinvendula worth Rs29.5 million.
Going by the declaration of assets, Chiranjeevi is the richest politician participating in the Andhra Pradesh elections. He is contesting in Palacole, West Godavari, and Tirupati, Chittoor.
Chiranjeevi, who was the highest earning film star in the Telugu film industry during a career spanning more than three decades, has immovable assets worth more than Rs303.2 million, while his wife, Surekha, is worth Rs480 million. Most of the couple's property is in Chennai.
Chiranjeevi's biggest asset is his residence in the Jubille Hills area of Hyderabad, which is worth Rs143.6 million.
