25th bomb defused in Surat
A tragedy was averted when a live bomb was found and defused on Saturdayin this south Gujarat city from where two dozens bombs had been recovered during the last fortnight.
Surat: A tragedy was averted when a live bomb was found and defused on Saturday in this south Gujarat city from where two dozens bombs had been recovered during the last fortnight.
The bomb squad found a packet, containing explosive material, outside the Hanuman temple, which attracts a large number of devotees on Saturdays, near Amroli Bridge in Katargam area. The latest recovery takes the number of unexploded bombs found in this city to 25. Soon after the Ahmedabad serial blasts of July 26, which claimed 55 lives, as many as 24 bombs were found in and around Varacha area here and two cars with explosive materials were also found.
Police were still investigating who could have planted the bombs in Surat.
