16 killed after overcrowded jeep crashes

Mumbai: Police say 16 people were killed when an overcrowded jeep crashed into a truck outside Mumbai, Maharashtra.
State police official Pravin Patil says the vehicle was filled with members of a family travelling to a wedding party. The dead included three children.

It was unclear if there were any survivors.
Police say the vehicle was speeding when it crashed into the back of the truck early yesterday on a highway outside the western city of Mumbai.
The vehicle was dragged by the truck for nearly 10km before the driver realised what had happened.
