Kabul: US forces targeted the network of Taliban figure Jalaluddin Haqqani during an operation in eastern Afghanistan on Tuesday.
Two suspected militants were detained in the raid launched on Monday in Khost, a province near the border with Pakistan.
A US military statement said soldiers found multiple AK-47s, grenades and other military equipment during the raid in Khost, which was against militants suspected of carrying out roadside bombings.
The statement did not mention an operation on Monday in Pakistan, in which at least 21 people died when US drones fired missiles at a house and religious school run by Haqqani.
