Gates concerned about Blackwater's conduct: Pentagon

Washington: US Defense Secretary Robert Gates is concerned about Blackwater's conduct in Afghanistan and has pledged to review the matter, the Pentagon said on Friday.

Blackwater recently changed its name to Xe.

Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman Carl Levin had asked Gates to consider blocking a potential $1 billion contract with Blackwater to train Afghan police because of allegations of misconduct.

"He is looking into it and he takes it seriously," Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell told reporters. "He shares (Levin's) concerns."
