Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has approved the new organisational structure of the Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO).
The new structure aims to boost DGMO’s taskforce with qualified young Emirati media leaders, according to a press release yesterday. The new formation will help evolve the office to an advanced phase of professionalism, undertake its strategic objectives and strengthen cooperation and communication with Dubai’s public sector and local and international media.
Mona Ganem Al Merri, Director General of GDMO, said the new structure reflects the directives of Shaikh Mohammad to engage Emirati leadership capabilities, incubate young talents and adopt decentralisation as fundamentals of operations.
Mona added that the GDMO’s new administration will work to achieve its objectives by encouraging innovation and participation among its staff initiating from their keen understanding of the office’s responsibilities to expand cooperation between the local government and media.
According to the new structure of the DGMO, Abdullah Al Mansouri has been appointed director, Corporate Support. He holds significant experience in finance and administration.
Saud Mohammad Al Derbi is now the director, News Centre. He is a prominent Emirati media figure who started his professional life as a reporter at an Arabic newspaper until he joined Dubai TV where he occupied different positions to conclude his service as Director of Domestic News Department.
Salem Buti Bel Youha has been appointed director, Media Development and Innovation. He is a known figure in the UAE’s media, communication and public relations community and an active figure in Dubai’s art and culture movement.
Maryam Bin Fahad is the director, Government Media Affairs. Maryam served earlier as the Executive Director of Dubai Press Club (DPC) since 2007.
Muna Bu Samra is the new director of the Dubai Press Club. Mona who joined DPC in 2008, has 14 years of experience in media.
Adel Omar Mohammad has been appointed director, Operations and Projects. He has more than 24 years of experience in radio, television and media administration. Abdul Rahman Al Ali is director, Engineering. He has been involved in the broadcast industry for more than 24 years.
