Dubai: Packed with cooking demonstrations, fitness challenges and shopping deals, Ramadan Night Market, Dubai’s first and biggest night market during the holy month, opened on June 1 to a packed attendance.

True to its character as a diverse shopping and entertainment event that offers something for everyone, this year’s shopping gala presents themed contests and challenges for each day of the market. The diverse market will be held until June 10 at Hall 7 and 8 at Dubai World Trade Centre.

The opening day began with interactive games.

On Friday, celebrated chef, blogger and journalist Ritu Chaturvedi conducted live cooking demonstrations providing audience quick and easy recipes for healthy breakfast, smoothies, energy balls and much more.

On Saturday, the market will have kids and teenagers picking up the intellectual gauntlet with Disney Quiz Challenges testing their knowledge on Disney characters.

On Sunday, the market provides visitors an opportunity to participate in a thrilling treasure hunt, collecting clues and beating the clock in 30 minutes to win fantastic prizes. The highlight for Monday is a fitness challenge for all participants. In ten days, the market attempts to break nine Guinness World Records.

Prizes of competitions range from exciting gift hampers and LCD TVs to board games and travel packages.

Entry fee: Dh5 (ages 5 and above), free (ages 5 and under).
