Dubai: Its that time of year again when you can get down to the beach without breaking into a sweat, and to top it off, you can now buy treats and goodies for the festive season too.

Back by popular demand, the artisanal marketplace has opened up along the seaside at The Beach, located opposite Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) – a beachfront destination developed by Dubai-based Meraas Holding and features a range of fashion retail outlets, dining and entertainment options.

The market will remain open everyday until April 2017, from 10am to midnight.

As an alternative choice to Dubai’s more traditional retail therapy, The Market brings a medley of products, which is divided into two categories; Eat Later and Bits and Pieces.

The Eat Later section enables visitors to pick up packaged food for convenience on the go. Offering everything from hand-marinated olives and freshly prepared tapenade made by olive enthusiasts, these products are perfect to buy as gifts or as a treat for the dinner table.

The Bits and Pieces section at The Market features arts and crafts including handmade jewellery, eye-catching hand embroidered cushions, and a variety of clothes ranging from babywear to women’s fashion.

For handmade African jewellery, Kikwetu offers a selection of intricately designed bracelets and necklaces. Having started from the local Nairobi and Mombasa tourist markets, the stall expanded into Tanzania, Zanzibar, Uganda and Rwanda and three years ago, came to the UAE to start trading at craft fairs and markets.
