Fujairah: National Bank of Fujairah (NBF) will host its first official long-distance running event on December 1 to coincide with National Day celebrations.
Trophies and medals will be awarded to the top three winners in different age categories across 3km, 5km and 10km races. In addition, cash prizes will be awarded to the top 10 finishers in the 10km race, including Dh10,000 each to the top male and female finishers, and Dh500 to Dh7,500 for the runners-up.
The top three Emirati male and female finishers in the 10km race will each receive cash prizes of Dh1,000 to Dh5,000.
Highest-placed teams will also earn cash prizes between Dh1,000 and Dh5,000, depending on the competitive category.
All who cross the finish line will receive a special medal for participation.
During the run, participants will get to celebrate Fujairah’s history by experiencing its rich cultural heritage such as the Hajar mountains. Other landmarks that the runners will pass include a 17th century fort and the Shaikh Zayed Mosque.
The inspiration for the Fujairah Run came from two running enthusiasts, employees of NBF, who used to run together on Friday mornings.
