Global Village extends operating hours from December 1 to 5

It will be open from 4pm to 2am from December 1 to 5 for National Day celebrations

Dubai: Global Village will host special events and extend its operating hours for the next five days to allow its guests to enjoy the UAE National Day celebrations at the park.

Global Village has also announced that it will remain open from 4pm until 2am, Friday to Tuesday (December 1 to 5).

A series of top of the line celebrations, special events and cultural entertainment will commemorate the 46th UAE National Day at Global Village. These include the world premiere and epic performance of ‘Belad Alkhair’, which sings about the love of the homeland and is one of the largest theatre productions in the history of Global Village.

The Lighthouse production spans six scenes that reflect the history of giving and goodness in the UAE. Directed by Ali Al Khawar, the show will be presented twice daily on the main cultural stage from December 1 to 5.

On Saturday, December 2, guests at Global Village will see the Parade of the World, which will showcase the cultures at the park with more than 300 performers of tens of nationalities coming together and with special participation of multiple cultural Emirati groups.

For three days, from December 1 to 3, Global Village guests will enjoy extraordinary fireworks display, which will carry the colours of the UAE flag and reach a height of 200 metres.

Winners of the “Victory Project” community initiative will also be announced and the creative sculptures of more than 15,000 students from 111 schools will be displayed during the celebrations.

Students from across the emirates painted and decorated more than 3,000 sculptures representing the theme of the victory of the United Arab Emirates and its people. All collected sculptures will be presented at Global Village, opposite the UAE Pavilion, from December 1 to 30.

The three winning works receive an award of Dh100,000 for the development of their arts departments at the winning schools.

Popular Emirati performances will be organised throughout the day at the venue, including the “Al Ayala” show, in which performers will play drums, duffels, brass instruments and vocals. They will also perform at the main cultural stage multiple times a day during National Day celebrations.

Cartoon personalities Shambeh, Atouga, Afari, Bu Mhayer and Aboud from the popular series Shabiat Al Cartoon will also meet and greet guests on the main cultural stage from December 1 to 3.

All celebrations and events of UAE National Day activities at Global Village are included in the ticket price of Dh15.
