Abu Dhabi: Ferrari World launched what it says is the world’s biggest and tallest rollercoaster on Wednesday.

Featuring the world’s tallest loop, at 63 metres high, the Flying Aces provides a contrast to the world’s fastest rollercoaster, the Formula Rossa, also at the theme park on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island.

Each provides different sensations of exhilaration from the moment you step on the ride, during — and after you step off, as I discovered taking a ride on the first day.

So what’s Flying Aces like? Well, this was by far the most thrilling ride I have ever been on.

Having the front seat on the ride made this experience 10 times better. Waiting for all the clearances to start up the ride just made me more anxious. As soon as the ride dropped down, with a speed of 120kmh, I could feel my heart beat faster, and with the overbanked turns, I said goodbye to my hair tie and enjoyed the thrilling sensation that every second of the ride gave me.

With every turn you’ll feel like screaming with joy but you will end up screaming “wohooo!” whilst holding onto your seat. Different emotions ran through me, but boredom wasn’t one of them.

The Flying Aces is the first rollercoaster to break three world records, says Jesse Vargas, Ferrari World Abu Dhabi’s general manager.

“The Flying Aces is the most dynamic ride yet. It has the world’s tallest non-inverted loop, the steepest and fastest inclined cable,” he told Gulf News.
