For cyclists, when it comes to safety, perhaps one of the most important things to consider is where to cycle. Gulf News spoke with Wolfgang Hohmann, founder of Dubai Roadsters and Stewart Howison of Cycle Safe Dubai to find out where cyclists can go.

Open cycle tracks include:

The dedicated Nad Al Sheba Cycle Park in Dubai, consisting of an 8km, 6km and 4km loop.

The new Al Qudra Cycle Path in Dubai, which is roughly 86km.

Mushrif Park, located off Airport Road, just past Mirdif, open till 11pm most nights

Enclosed cycle tracks include:

The Dubai Autodrome, open to cyclists, joggers and roller bladers on Wednesday evenings from 6 to 9pm.

The Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, open to all cyclists, runners, families out for a stroll on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 9pm.
