Al Ain: Weather has taken the forecasted turn with cloudy, windy and dusty conditions across the emirates as forecasters repeat the severe weather warning.

Temperature has dropped and poor visibility is being reported from different parts of the country. A layer of fine dust has covered things in the outdoor and doctors have advised people with breathing problems to stay indoors.

The National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS) has reported light rainfall in Al Hamra in the western region of Abu Dhabi Emirate on Thursday morning. Residents have also reported rain in parts of Sharjah and Al Nehwa. Strong northwesterly wind has also generating high waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman.

The NCMS has advised fishermen to stay on shore at least for the next 48 hours. The NCMS said that the weather will remain unstable in general until Sunday and there are chances of moderate to heavy rain in different parts of the UAE. The weather has changed since Wednesday evening due to a surface trough coming in from the Red Sea area.

According to the NCMS, the amount of clouds will increase today over some areas, especially the northern, eastern and the UAE’s islands in the Arabian Gulf, with a probability of rain clouds accumulation over the eastern mountain region by afternoon.

An upper air cold mass has also entered the country today, intensifying the condition. This has enhanced the chances of scattered rainfall on Thursday evening and at night. The conditions will remain unstable and partly cloudy especially in regions over areas in the west, north-east and over a few islands, said the NCMS.

The maximum temperatures in the coastal areas of the country will be in the range of 28 to 32 degree Celsius, while the minimum will be around 15 to 20 degree Celsius.

The maximum temperature in the inland areas will be 32 to 35 degree Celsius and the minimum will be about 14 to 18 degree Celsius. The gradual decrease in temperature, especially over the coastal areas, is likely to continue.
