The in-form allrounder Khuram Khan is appointed the UAE skipper.
The International Cricket Council's Six Nations Challenge Cricket tournament will commence from February 29.

Hosts UAE will take on Canada in the opener to be held at the Dubai Cricket Council ground. The UAE team is being led by allrounder Khuram Khan.

"It is a great honour for Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) to host this prestigious event," remarked Abdulrehman Bukhatir, the President of the ECB after disclosing the details of the tournament.

"Canada, Holland, Scotland, Namibia, USA and UAE are the teams participating in this event. The winning team will qualify for a spot in the ICC Champions Trophy 2004 alongside the Test nations in England in September," added Bukhatir.

Fifteen matches will be played at the three venues in Dubai and Sharjah.

"Tim Anderson, the ICC Development Officer, East Asia Pacific, will be the event manager. Bob Woolmer, the ICC High Performance Manager has been appointed member technical committee while International Test umpire, Darrell Hair will be the tournament referee. The matches will be played in coloured clothing and white ball," revealed Mazhar Khan, the ECB Administrator. USA team will be the first team to arrive on Monday.

Practice matches with local clubs are being organised for USA, Canada and Scotland.
