Abu Dhabi:The UAE has declared Thursday, June 6, as public and private sectors holiday to mark Al Isra'a Wal Miraj.

The private sector will get a one-day holiday on Thursday, June 6, to mark Isra Wal Meraj, it was announced yesterday.

According to a resolution issued by Saqr Gobash, Minister of Labour, private sector employees will get a day off to celebrate the occasion. The resolution comes in implementation of article 74 of Federal Law No 8 for 1980 on labour relations.

The minister congratulated President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, on the glorious occasion.

He also took the opportunity to congratulate the UAE government and people as well as expatriates, and both Arab and Muslim nations.
