Dubai: The UAE is optimistic about the chances to host the World Expo 2020 in Dubai, said His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
“We are optimistic about our chances to host the World Expo 2020. We are optimistic because we have the necessary elements to host the event. I would like to thank the countries who voiced their support for the UAE’s bid,” Shaikh Mohammad said.
His comments followed a meeting held at the Dubai Government Media Office with senior Emirati media officials, writers and journalists, as part of the Mohammad Bin Rashid Media Majlis.
Shaikh Mohammad told the gathering that the happiness and welfare of its citizens was one of the top priorities of the UAE leadership and the basis for its many initiatives.
Expressing his gratitude to local media for the massive support they have shown for the UAE’s World Expo 2020 bid, Shaikh Mohammad said: “The UAE will be successful whether it wins the bid or not, as we are working and moving forward with various development plans.”
