Bader Juma, Abdul Rahman Saqr, Hashem Al Tamimee, Sharad Rattan, Ameet Lakhiani and Sayed Ali have been selected from the UAE for the Marlboro Adventure Team selection camp to be held in Cyprus from July 31 to August 5.

The announcement, after the completion of the selection process here, was made yesterday at the Philip Morris office yesterday. The six were selected from among the 34,000 entries.

The selection in Cyprus will be held between July 31 and August 5. The Cyprus camp is the first on the calendar of the 2001 Marlboro Adventure team. This will be followed by a second selection camp to be held in the Dominican Republic between August 11 and 15.

The selection camps are the preparatory steps for the big event to be held in American West.

Adventurers from Czech Republic, Romania, Poland, Switzerland and Indonesia will meet in Cyprus while others from Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Panama, Brazil, Uruguay, Venezuela, Paraguay and many other countries are to share the adventure of the second selection camp to be held in Dominican Republic.

Some of this year's adventurers from the UAE are already familiar with the activities of the Marlboro Adventure team from friends who were previous winners. In fact, learning from the experience of others has helped to prepare this year's participants for the unique experience.

A total of 42 participants from six Arab countries will take part. The participants from the other Arab countries are: Ghanem Al Ghanem, Adel Mohammed, Saleh Turkey, Jasem Mohammed and Ayman Abdullah from Kuwait. Ali Al Amri, Nawaf Al Salami, Azzan Al Jadhami and Abhishekh Sahni from Oman. Hassan Mirza, Mohammed Shabbani and Isa Ali from Bahrain. Ali Somali, Mohammed Moujali, Bandar Shetaiwi, Nair Al Dulami, Mazen Halawni, Ahmad Al Ayoubi, Thamer Al Yosha, Osma Al Kumaizi, Soultan Al Dbass, Abdullah Al Oteibi, Hussain Al Abdullah, Wafi Al Zaver, Saoud Al Ahmari, Nair Al Mark and Saoud Al Honbout from Saudi Arabia. Phillippe Najjar, Diana Kfoury, Lynn Kain, Mazen El Kayed, Walid El Khouri, Ellie Saliba, Hani El Hoyek and Ali Hamad from Lebanon.
