Abu Dhabi: A new resolution issued by the Cabinet states that federal entities and government departments may not issue or renew a facility’s licence unless the applicant can produce a fire safety certificate from the Directorate of Civil Defence.

The certificate should be valid for one year.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, issued Resolution No. 24 for the year 2012, covering the organisation of Civil Defense services which applies to all buildings and facilities in the UAE. The coverage excludes privately owned residential houses.

Major-General Rashid Thani Al Matroushi, Director General of Civil Defence, praised the resolution issued by Shaikh Mohammad.

Al Matroushi praised the keenness of the UAE leadership to ensure the safety and security of people, properties and national achievements.

Shaikh Mohammad has also issued Resolution No. 30 for the year 2012 amending Cabinet Resolution No. 15 for the year 2009 regarding the organisation of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAGHR).

The Resolution stipulates that the chairman of the FAGHR is the supreme authority that supervises and manages the FAGHR’s affairs, planning its policies and issuing the regulatory decisions required to achieve its objectives.

The FAGHR chairman shall also be responsible for establishing the general human resources policies pursuant to the federal government strategy as well as relevant laws and regulations.
