As a precursor to the Miss World 2003 finals, Miss World You Decide on November 29, 2003 introduced the contestants from over 100 countries.

For the first time the cameras captured what it was truly like to be competing for the prestigious Miss World crown.

The girls were filmed in a variety of locations around China as they participated in different contests that tested their intelligence, their athletic skills, ability to sing or dance, fashion and style and their overall personality.

For the first time, viewers will also influence the decision by voting on who will make it into the semifinals via telephone and interactive votes. These votes from around the world will be counted towards the choice of the finalists.

An international contest that tests a combination of beauty and brains, the Miss World contest is a visual treat.

The competition will be a mix of glamour, fashion, sports and entertainment as the exquisite beauties from various countries compete through various qualifying rounds against the backdrop of the magnificent Chinese scenery - the beaches of Sanya, the tropical island of Hainan and the Great Wall of China.

This will culminate in the finals to be televised live on Star World.

Along with the bevy of beauties, the final programme will also include musical performances by top international artists, hosted by Amanda Byram, an Irish TV presenter.
