Dubai: With one week remaining for the Filipino Overseas Absentee Voting, the Philippine Consulate-General said it is maximising all resources available to reach out to registered Filipino voters in the UAE to cast their votes until May 13.

As of April 28, the consulate ranked fourth in the overall ranking for the Philippine missions worldwide in terms of voters’ turnout, according to the Department of Foreign Affairs-Overseas Absentee Voting Secretariat. Hong Kong topped the list, followed by Riyadh, and Singapore.

The consulate has partnered with several establishments to set up field voting venues to accommodate voters in Karama, Satwa, Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Quoz, Al Safa, Jumeirah Beach, and Rashidiya in Dubai and in Sharjah.

For the last week or voting, Max’s Restaurant in Karama will be open to voters from 4pm to 8pm on May 6 to 11, while PH Supermarket in Deira will have the same timings from May 6 to 8. Chowking in Al Ghurair will accommodate voters on May 9 to 11 from 11am to 6pm.

Satwa residents may vote at Tipanan Restaurant on May 9 from 4pm to 8pm. Those free on Friday may visit St. Michael’s Church in Sharjah from 8am to 5pm; St. Mary’s Church Dubai and Agemono Restaurant in Al Khail Mall from 11am to 6pm.

Overseas voting is also being held at the Philippine consulate premises daily from 8am-8pm. Voting will end on May 13 at 3pm.
