Dubai has set the record for the world's tallest hotel.
Rotana Rose Tower, an all-suite hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road, towers above its peers at 77 floors, standing 333 metres tall, with 480 luxurious rooms, suites and penthouses.
The Rose Tower, which stands 12 metres taller than the Burj Al Arab (321 metres), is expected to open in August, but there is no confirmation with regards to the launch date.

The previous world record holder was North Korea's Ryugyong Hotel which was built in 1992, with 105 floors spanning its 330-metre height. The Ryugyong Hotel, though, never opened to guests, leaving Dubai with the two tallest functioning hotels in the world.
The Rose Tower, will give Dubai the top three spots.

According to emporis.com, a commercial real estate and construction data research company, the Rose Tower now leads the rankings, followed by the Burj Al Arab and Jumeirah Emirates Towers (56 floors at 309 metres) among the top ten tallest operational hotels in the world.
Commenting on the pre-opening plans, Emad Elyas, Executive Vice President and COO of Rotana, said: they are getting ready for the opening of the property "within the coming few months".
